Educational Q&A

Fear is addressed through assurance of rightful protection: when hostile forces threaten the cosmic and social order, a capable protector—armed with effective means—can remove the source of fear and restore stability.

Bhīṣma reassures the addressed party that a powerful figure will slay the particular enemy who has caused their fear, and will also eliminate other adversaries of the gods, emphasizing decisive victory through unfailing weapons.
