Go-dāna-phala-nirdeśa
Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
अरण्ये गृहवासे च शूराश्वातिथिपूजने । सर्वे यान्ति पराललोंकान् स्वकर्मफलनिर्जितान्
araṇye gṛhavāse ca śūrāśvātithipūjane | sarve yānti parāllokān svakarmaphalanirjitān ||
Bhīṣma dạy rằng: sự xuất sắc trong dharma không bị giam trong một lối sống duy nhất. Có người anh dũng trong đời sống rừng sâu và khổ hạnh; có người anh dũng trong việc giữ trọn bổn phận gia chủ; lại có người anh dũng trong việc kính trọng và phụng sự khách đến nhà. Tất cả những người ấy, nhờ công đức do chính hành vi của mình tạo nên, đều đạt đến những cõi cao mà họ đã giành được như quả báo của nghiệp.
