Merit and Destinations from the Gift of Cows
वैश्य: स्वकर्मनिरत: प्रदानाल्लभते महत् । शूद्र: स्वकर्मनिरत: स्वर्ग शुश्रूषयारच्छति
bhīṣma uvāca |
vaiśyaḥ svakarmanirataḥ pradānāl labhate mahat |
śūdraḥ svakarmanirataḥ svargaṃ śuśrūṣayā ṛcchati ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Một vaiśya kiên định trong bổn phận của mình đạt địa vị lớn nhờ lòng rộng rãi bố thí. Một śūdra cũng vậy, chuyên tâm vào công việc của mình, nhờ phụng sự trung tín mà đến cõi trời. Lời dạy nhấn mạnh rằng sự thăng tiến về tinh thần và xã hội không đến từ việc bỏ địa vị của mình, mà từ việc làm trọn bổn phận với lòng chân thành—đặc biệt qua bố thí và phụng sự.”
