Phala of Vrata, Niyama, Svādhyāya, Dama, Satya, Brahmacarya, and Service (व्रत-नियम-स्वाध्याय-दम-सत्य-ब्रह्मचर्य-शुश्रूषा-फलप्रश्नः)
ऋषिरुद्दालकिर्दीक्षामुपगम्य तत: सुतम् । त्वं मामुपचरस्वेति नाचिकेतमभाषत,एक समय उद्दालक ऋषिने यज्ञकी दीक्षा लेकर अपने पुत्र नाचिकेतसे कहा--“तुम मेरी सेवामें रहो।”
ṛṣir uddālakir dīkṣām upagamya tataḥ sutam | tvaṃ mām upacarasveti nāciketam abhāṣata ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hiền triết Uddālaka, sau khi thọ lễ thệ nguyện (dīkṣā) cho một cuộc tế lễ, liền bảo con trai mình là Nāciketa: ‘Hãy hầu cận ta—ở lại phụng sự ta.’”
