Educational Q&A

A righteous elder’s benevolent assurance (prasāda) should remove anxiety: sincere, affectionate petitions aligned with dharma are not meant to end in futility, and the highest wish is not merely progeny but virtuous progeny (guṇavantam apatyaṃ).

Bhishma addresses a woman respectfully as “kalyāṇi,” promising that her mother will soon bear a virtuous child, and he comforts her that her loving request will not go in vain.
