पृथक्‌ चैव तथा सुप्तौ सा स्त्री स च मुनिस्तदा । तथार्धात्रे सा स्त्री तु शयनं तदुपागमत्‌,उस समय वह स्त्री और मुनि दोनों अलग-अलग सो गये। जब आधी रात हुई तब वह स्त्री उठकर मुनिकी शय्यापर आ बैठी

pṛthak caiva tathā suptau sā strī sa ca munis tadā | tathārdharātre sā strī tu śayanaṃ tad upāgamat ||

Bhīṣma nói: Khi ấy người đàn bà và vị hiền giả đều nằm ngủ riêng. Đến nửa đêm, người đàn bà đứng dậy, tiến đến giường ấy và ngồi lên sàng của vị hiền giả—một hành động mở đầu cho phép thử về sự tiết chế, đúng mực và gìn giữ dharma.
