एतावन्मात्रमेतद्धि भूतानां प्राज्ञलक्षणम्‌ | कालयुक्तो5प्युभयविच्छेषं॑ युक्त समाचरेत्‌

Transliteration

etāvanmātram etaddhi bhūtānāṁ prājñalakṣaṇam | kālayukto 'py ubhayaviccheṣaṁ yuktaḥ samācaret |

Translation

Bhishma nói: “Chừng ấy thôi đã là dấu hiệu của trí tuệ nơi muôn loài: tin vào quả báo của dharma mà dốc lòng thực hành. Dẫu bị ràng buộc bởi thời vận và số mệnh nghịch cảnh, người phân biệt được điều nên làm và điều không nên làm vẫn phải hành xử cho hợp lẽ—chọn dharma và sống theo dharma trong mức mà hoàn cảnh cho phép.”
