अर्चेद् देवानदम्भेन सेवेतामायया गुरून् । निर्धि निदध्यात् पारत्र्यं यात्रार्थ दानशब्दितम्
arced devān adambhena sevetāmāyayā gurūn | nidhim nidadhyāt pāratr̥yaṁ yātrārthaṁ dānaśabditam ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Hãy thờ phụng chư thiên mà không giả dối; hãy phụng sự bậc trưởng thượng và thầy dạy mà không lừa trá. Và cho cuộc hành trình sang đời sau, hãy tích lũy một ‘kho báu’ mang tên bố thí—nghĩa là hãy cho đi rộng rãi, cầu phúc lợi theo sau khi thân này đã mất.”
