तस्मिन् व्रजति दुर्धर्षे प्रास्खलद् रुक्मिणी पथि । तन्नामर्षयत श्रीमांस्ततस्तूर्णमचोदयत्
tasmin vrajati durdharṣe prāskhalad rukmiṇī pathi | tan nāmarṣayata śrīmāṁs tatas tūṛṇam acodayat ||
Khi vị hiền triết Durvāsā đáng sợ vẫn tiếp tục hành trình, Rukmiṇī vấp ngã trên đường và ngã xuống. Bậc ẩn sĩ lẫy lừng ấy không thể chịu đựng điều mà ông cho là một sự thất lễ hay sơ suất; trong cơn giận, ông lập tức thúc ép nàng một cách khắc nghiệt, xua nàng đi không chút thương xót.
