अत्रिर॒वाच कथं रक्षामि भवतस्ते<ब्रुवंश्वन्द्रमा भव । तिमिरघ्नश्न सविता दस्युहन्ता च नो भव
atrir uvāca: kathaṁ rakṣāmi bhavatas te? bruvan: candramā bhava; timiraghnaś ca savitā, dasyuhantā ca no bhava.
Atri nói: “Ta sẽ bảo vệ các ngươi bằng cách nào?” Chư thiên đáp: “Xin Ngài hóa thành Mặt Trăng; hóa thành Mặt Trời xua tan bóng tối; và vì chúng ta, xin trở thành kẻ diệt trừ bọn thù địch cướp phá—những ác quỷ như phường thảo khấu ấy.”
