अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

अन्तरहिते भगवति सानुगे यादवेश्वर । ऋषिराश्रममागम्य ममैतत्‌ प्रोक्ततानिह,यादवेश्वर! जब पार्षदोंसहित भगवान्‌ अन्तर्धान हो गये, तब ऋषिने मेरे आश्रमपर आकर यहाँ मुझसे ये सब बातें बतायीं

antarhite bhagavati sānuge yādaveśvara | ṛṣir āśramam āgamya mamaitat proktavān iha ||

Hỡi Chúa tể dòng Yādava, khi Đấng Thế Tôn khuất khỏi tầm mắt cùng với các tùy tùng, vị hiền triết đã đến am thất của ta và tại đây thuật lại mọi điều ấy cho ta. Đoạn này nhấn mạnh sự truyền trao trung tín của các sự kiện thiêng liêng: khi thần linh trở nên vô hình, trách nhiệm gìn giữ và chuyển đạt chân lý thuộc về những bậc kiến giả đáng tin và sự lắng nghe có kỷ luật.
