अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)

उपमन्युरुवाच एतान्‌ दत्त्वा वरान्‌ देवो वन्द्यमान: सुरभि: | स्तूयमानश्व विबुधैस्तत्रैवान्तरधीयत

Upamanyur uvāca: etān dattvā varān devo vandyamānaḥ surabhiḥ | stūyamānaś ca vibudhais tatraivāntaradhīyata ||

Upamanyu nói: Sau khi ban những ân phúc ấy, Đấng Chúa Tể thiêng liêng—được Surabhi tôn kính và chư thiên ca tụng—liền ẩn mất ngay tại chỗ ấy. Đoạn này nêu rõ rằng lòng sùng kính chân thành và lời tán dương đúng pháp đưa đến ân điển, nhưng sự hiện diện của thần linh vẫn vượt ngoài nắm bắt, tùy theo ý chí của Ngài mà hiện rồi lại ẩn.
