अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
यह तुष्टि, यह सिद्धि, यह श्रुति, यह स्मृति, भक्तोंकी यह अध्यात्मगति तथा ज्ञानी पुरुषोंकी यह अक्षय प्राप्ति (पुनरावृत्तिरहित मोक्षलाभ) आप ही हैं ।।
yā tuṣṭiḥ yā siddhiḥ yā śrutiḥ yā smṛtiḥ bhaktānām iyam adhyātmagatiḥ tathā jñānināṃ iyam akṣayaprāptiḥ (punarāvṛttirahitaḥ mokṣalābhaḥ) tvam eva asi || yajatāṃ kāmayānānāṃ mūrkhaiḥ vipuladakṣiṇaiḥ | yā gatiḥ yajñaśīlānāṃ sā gatiḥ tvam na saṃśayaḥ ||
Vāyu-deva nói: Chính Ngài là sự mãn nguyện ấy và thành tựu ấy; Ngài là uy quyền của Śruti (mặc khải được nghe) và sức mạnh của Smṛti (truyền thống được ghi nhớ). Ngài là đích đến nội linh của người mộ đạo, và là chứng đắc bất hoại của bậc trí—giải thoát không còn trở lại. Dẫu là những kẻ thờ phụng với lòng ham muốn, làm tế lễ với của bố thí dồi dào, thì bất cứ “mục tiêu” nào mà người chuyên hành tế lễ đạt được—mục tiêu ấy, không nghi ngờ gì, cũng chính là Ngài.

Vāyu-deva is praising and identifying the ultimate divine principle as the source and destination of multiple paths—yajña (ritual), bhakti (devotion), and jñāna (knowledge)—asserting that every ‘gati’ or final outcome is, in truth, that very Lord.
