स्वापन: स्ववशो व्यापी नैकात्मा नैककर्मकृत् । वत्सरो वत्सलो वत्सी रत्नगर्भो धनेश्वर:
bhīṣma uvāca | svāpanaḥ svavaśo vyāpī naikātmā naikakarmakṛt | vatsaro vatsalo vatsī ratnagarbho dhaneśvaraḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: Ngài là đấng ru muôn loài vào giấc ngủ vô minh khi thời kỳ hủy diệt đến; tự tại, độc lập; bao trùm như hư không; hiện ra nhiều hình tướng qua các thời đại để nâng đỡ thế gian; thực hiện vô số công hạnh—sáng tạo, bảo tồn và tiêu dung, cùng những kỳ diệu trong các lần giáng thế.
