Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
शक्रस्य तु वच: श्रुत्वा नाहं प्रीतमनाभवम् । अब्रुवंश्व तदा हृष्टो देवराजमिदं वच:
śakrasya tu vacaḥ śrutvā nāhaṃ prītamanābhavam | abruvaṃś ca tadā hṛṣṭo devarājam idaṃ vacaḥ ||
Nghe lời Śakra (Indra), lòng ta chẳng hề vui thích. Nhưng bề ngoài vẫn tỏ vẻ hân hoan, khi ấy ta thưa với vua chư thiên những lời này. Đoạn văn nhấn mạnh một thái độ nội tâm có kỷ luật: trước quyền lực, người ta vẫn có thể giữ lễ độ điềm nhiên, mà trong lòng không vướng mắc, luôn tỉnh thức về điều nên xin hay nên nhận.
