Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
ततो मामाह देवेन्द्रस्तुष्टस्ते5हं द्विजोत्तम । वरं वृणीष्व मत्तस्त्वं यत् ते मनसि वर्तते
tato mām āha devendras tuṣṭas te ’haṃ dvijottama | varaṃ vṛṇīṣva mattas tvaṃ yat te manasi vartate ||
Bấy giờ Thiên Đế (Indra) hài lòng nói với ta: “Hỡi bậc tối thượng trong hàng Bà-la-môn, ta rất mãn nguyện về ngươi. Hãy chọn một ân huệ từ ta—điều gì đang ở trong tâm ngươi, cứ xin.” Nghe lời Indra, lòng ta chẳng hề hân hoan; nhưng vẫn giữ lễ, bề ngoài tỏ vẻ vui mừng, ta đáp lời chúa tể chư thiên.
