पितरस्तस्य देवाक्ष॒ अग्नयश्ष तथैव हि । निराशा: प्रतिगच्छन्ति अतिथेरप्रतिग्रहात्
pitaras tasya devāś ca agnayaś ca tathaiva hi | nirāśāḥ pratigacchanti atither apratigrahāt ||
Dharma nói: “Từ ngôi nhà nơi một vị khách ra đi trong thất vọng—vì không được tiếp đón và tôn kính—thì cũng từ đó, các Pitṛ (linh hồn tổ tiên), chư thiên và những ngọn lửa thiêng (Agni) likewise ra đi trong thất vọng. Bởi vậy, xem nhẹ việc hiếu khách không phải là lỗi riêng tư nhỏ nhặt, mà là sự vi phạm bổn phận tôn giáo và xã hội, cắt đứt những phúc lành vô hình chỉ đến qua sự đón tiếp đúng đạo.”
