मानसतीर्थ-शौचप्रशंसा | Praise of the ‘Mental Tīrtha’ and the Marks of Purity

यस्तु कल्यं तथा सायं भुञज्जानो नान्तरा पिबेत्‌

bhīṣma uvāca | yastu kalyaṃ tathā sāyaṃ bhuñjāno nāntarā pibet, ahiṃsāparāyaṇaḥ san nityam agnihotraṃ juhuyāt, tasya ṣaḍbhir varṣaiḥ siddhiḥ prāpyate—atra na saṃśayaḥ |

Bhīṣma nói: Ai chỉ ăn vào lúc rạng đông và lúc hoàng hôn, không uống dù chỉ một ngụm nước ở khoảng giữa, lại kiên định trong bất bạo động và hằng ngày cử hành lễ Agnihotra, thì trong vòng sáu năm sẽ đạt thành tựu tâm linh—điều ấy không còn nghi ngờ.
