Āloka-dāna (Dīpa-dāna), Sumanas–Dhūpa–Dīpa Phala: Manu–Suvarṇa and Śukra–Bali Exempla
सुवर्णस्त्वब्रवीद् वाक््यं मनुं स्वायम्भुवं प्रति । हितार्थ सर्वभूतानां प्रश्न॑ मे वक्तुमहसि
suvarṇas tv abravīd vākyam manuṃ svāyambhuvaṃ prati | hitārthaṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ praśnaṃ me vaktum arhasi ||
Bhīṣma nói: Suvarṇa thưa với Manu Svayambhuva rằng: “Vì lợi ích của muôn loài, ngài nên đáp cho ta một điều. Phép thực hành dùng hoa để thờ phụng chư thiên ấy là gì? Nó đã khởi lên và trở thành tục lệ như thế nào? Quả báo của nó là gì, và mục đích chân chính của nó là gì? Xin hãy nói cho ta tất cả.”
