ब्रह्मचर्येण कन्या३ युवानं विन्दते पतिम्। अनड्वान् ब्रह्मचर्येणाश्वो घासं जिगीर्षति

IAST Transliteration

brahmacaryéṇa kanyā́ yúvānaṃ vindate pátim | anaḍvā́n brahmacaryéṇā́śvo ghā́saṃ jigīrṣati ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

By holy studentship the maiden winneth her youthful lord as spouse. By studentship the strong bull, and the horse, would fain win fodder for their need.

Nhờ Phạm hạnh (brahmacarya, hạnh tu của người học trò thệ nguyện), thiếu nữ giành được người phu trẻ làm phối ngẫu. Nhờ Phạm hạnh, bò đực mạnh và ngựa cũng ước mong giành được cỏ khô làm lương thực theo nhu cầu.
