ब्रह्मचर्येण तपसा राजा राष्ट्रं वि रक्षति । आचार्योऽ ब्रह्मचर्येण ब्रह्मचारिणमिच्छते

IAST Transliteration

brahmacaryéṇa tápasā rājā rāṣṭráṃ ví rakṣati | ācāryó brahmacaryéṇa brahmacā́riṇam icchate ||

English Translation (Griffith/Whitney)

By holy studentship, by ardent austerity, the King doth guard and widely shield the realm. The Teacher, by that studentship, desireth and seeketh the vowed Student.

Translation

Nhờ phạm hạnh (brahmacarya), nhờ sức nóng khổ hạnh (tapas), nhà vua gìn giữ và che chở rộng khắp quốc thổ (rāṣṭra). Vị thầy (ācārya) cũng nhờ phạm hạnh ấy mà mong muốn và tìm cầu người học trò đã phát nguyện—brahmacārin.
