समाप्तमिदं वराहमहापुराणम् ॥ अथ पुराणपठनादिविषयानुक्रमणिकाध्यायः ॥ त्रिःसप्तषट्क्षितिमिते नृपविक्रमस्य काले गते भगवतो हरिबोधनस्य ॥ वीरेश्वरेण सह माधवभद्रनाम्ना काश्यां वराहकथितं लिखितं पुराणम् ॥
samāptam idaṃ varāhamahāpurāṇam || atha purāṇapaṭhanādiviṣayānukramaṇikādhyāyaḥ || triḥsaptaṣaṭkṣitimite nṛpavikramasya kāle gate bhagavato haribodhanasya || vīreśvareṇa saha mādhavabhadranāmnā kāśyāṃ varāhakathitaṃ likhitaṃ purāṇam ||
یہ ورَاہ مہاپُران ختم ہوا۔ اب پُران کے پاٹھ وغیرہ موضوعات کی فہرست/اشاریہ کا باب ہے۔ جب نرپ وکرم کا زمانہ، 3-7-6 کے پیمانے (تاریخی رمز) کے مطابق، گزر چکا، بھگوان ہری کے بودھن (بیداری) کے موقع پر—ویرےشور کے ساتھ—مادھوبھدر نامی یہ پُران، جو ورَاہ نے بیان کیا تھا، کاشی میں لکھا گیا۔
