brahmaṇā'bhihitaṃ pūrvaṃ yāvanmātraṃ marīcaye | brāhmaṃ taddaśasāhasraṃ purāṇaṃ tadihocyate

جو برہما نے قدیم زمانے میں مریچی کو جس قدر میں بتایا تھا، وہی یہاں ‘برہما پُران’ کہلاتا ہے—دس ہزار شلوکوں پر مشتمل۔
