ईश्वर उवाच । तस्यैव पश्चिमे भागे नातिदूरे व्यवस्थितम् । चण्डिका कर्ममोटी च योगिनी कोटिसंयुता । पीठत्रयं महादेवि आद्यं त्रैलोक्यवन्दितम्
īśvara uvāca | tasyaiva paścime bhāge nātidūre vyavasthitam | caṇḍikā karmamoṭī ca yoginī koṭisaṃyutā | pīṭhatrayaṃ mahādevi ādyaṃ trailokyavanditam
اِیشور نے فرمایا: اسی کے مغربی حصے میں، زیادہ دور نہیں، ایک مقدّس پیٹھ ہے—چنڈیکا اور کرمموٹی، اور کروڑوں قوتوں سے یُکت یوگنی کے ساتھ۔ اے مہادیوی، یہ تین پیٹھوں کا مجموعہ ہے، جن میں پہلا تینوں لوکوں میں وندنیہ ہے۔
