kalpaliṃgaṃ mahādevi hyanādinidhanaṃ sthitam | pūrvaṃ tretāyuge devi vīrabhadreśvarīti ca
Īśvara (Śiva)
Tirtha: Kalpa-liṅga / (Tretā name) Vīrabhadreśvarī
Type: kshetra
Listener: Mahādevī (Pārvatī)
Scene: A self-luminous liṅga labeled ‘Kalpa-liṅga’ stands in a sanctum; Śiva narrates to Devī, while a subtle overlay shows the shrine’s older name ‘Vīrabhadreśvarī’ in a Tretā-era vignette.
Śiva’s presence as liṅga is timeless; the same sacred reality is remembered through different names across the yugas.
The Kalpa-liṅga shrine in Prabhāsa-kṣetra, associated with the name Vīrabhadreśvarī in Tretā Yuga.
No direct ritual act is prescribed; the verse identifies the shrine and its yuga-based appellation.
