किं दानस्य प्रभावेन व्रतयागस्य वा मुने । तपसो वा मुनिश्रेष्ठ व्रतस्य नियमस्य च

kiṃ dānasya prabhāvena vratayāgasya vā mune | tapaso vā muniśreṣṭha vratasya niyamasya ca

اے مُنی! کیا یہ دان (خیرات) کے اثر سے ہے، یا ورت اور یاگ (قربانی) کے سبب؟ یا اے مونی شریشٹھ! تپسیا سے—یا ورت کے قواعد و ضوابط اور ریاضتوں سے؟
