पुरा देवयुगे राजन्महिषोनाम दानवः । पितामहवराद्दृप्तः सर्वदेवभयंकरः

purā devayuge rājanmahiṣonāma dānavaḥ | pitāmahavarāddṛptaḥ sarvadevabhayaṃkaraḥ

اے راجن! دیویُگ کے قدیم زمانے میں مہِشا نام کا ایک دانو تھا۔ پِتامہہ برہما کے ور سے غرور میں بھر کر وہ سب دیوتاؤں کے لیے ہولناک دہشت بن گیا۔
