Sūta
Type: tirtha
Listener: kingly audience
Scene: A luminous tīrtha protected by Tripurāri: Śiva stands with trident, a halo of ash-white radiance forming a boundary that repels dark ‘Kali’ shadows and sin-forms labeled brahmahatyā; pilgrims bathe safely within the sanctified circle.
Śiva’s presence makes a sacred place transcendent—capable of remaining pure even amid Kali-yuga and of neutralizing grave moral taints.
The chapter’s featured Nāgarakhaṇḍa tīrtha, praised as uniquely unaffected by Kali-doṣa due to Śiva (Tripurāri).
No direct rite is stated here; the verse establishes the tīrtha’s exceptional purity and sin-destroying capacity.
