bhagavānuvāca | matprasādādasaṃdigdhaṃ sarvametadbhaviṣyati | tvayā yatprārthitaṃ daitya tvameko balavāniha
Śiva (Bhagavān/Mahādeva)
Listener: Daitya (Tāraka)
Scene: Mahādeva, serene and authoritative, grants a boon to a daitya petitioner; the moment is calm yet portentous, with the trident-bearing Lord’s composure contrasted against the daitya’s eager ambition.
Divine grace can empower even the unworthy, yet Purāṇic dharma implies that such power becomes a test that ultimately restores cosmic balance.
The boon is granted within the Gokarṇa-centered tīrthamāhātmya narrative of this chapter.
None; this verse is the confirmation of the boon (vara-siddhi) by the Lord.
