na kevalaṃ vratopetāḥ strīsaṃgātpāpamāpnuyuḥ | vratabāhyā api narāḥ saktāḥ strīṣu pataṃtyadhaḥ
Viśvāmitra (continuing)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Allegorical depiction of men being pulled downward by cords of attachment while a calm ascetic points toward a higher path; contrast between descent and ascent.
Attachment (saṅga) is depicted as the real cause of decline; the warning is broadened beyond ascetics to all people.
No tīrtha is named in this verse; it serves as general dharma-teaching within the Tīrthamāhātmya narrative.
No specific rite; it prescribes vigilance against unhealthy attachment as a spiritual discipline.
