asti bhūbhitale khyātā madhurākhyā mahāpurī | nānāviprasamākīrṇā yamunātaṭasaṃśrayā

Translation

روئے زمین پر مَتھُرا نام کی ایک مشہور عظیم نگری ہے، جو بے شمار وِپروں (برہمنوں) سے بھری ہوئی ہے اور جمنا کے کنارے آباد ہے۔
