Sūta (deduced; Nāgarakhaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya narration typically via Sūta to sages)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A contrast scene: on one side, a pilgrim performing snāna and dāna mechanically; on the other, a vrata-keeper with simple living, lamp and japa, whose offerings glow with visible radiance—illustrating ‘fruitful vs fruitless’ merit.
Seasonal discipline (vrata) in Cāturmāsya is treated as a key that makes other merits spiritually effective.
No single tīrtha is specified; the verse speaks broadly of “all tīrthas” and meritorious places.
Observing a vrata during Cāturmāsya; otherwise, the value of tīrtha-bathing and charity is said to be diminished.
