Mārkaṇḍeya (narrating the prior episode)
Listener: General audience; internal addressee is the narrative audience following the king’s approach
Scene: A king arrives at a forest hermitage; the sage sits comfortably in his own āśrama-seat; the king bows low in reverence before speaking.
Reverence and humility before a sage is the proper doorway to receiving dharma-instruction.
No tīrtha is specified; the setting is the sage’s āśrama.
None directly; it narrates the approach that precedes instruction on śrāddha.
