لہٰذا، اے بیٹے، اس معاملے میں میرے فرمان کے مطابق عمل کر؛ اس سے اس دنیا میں بھی اور اُس پار کی دنیا میں بھی بڑی بھلائی ہوگی۔
Unnamed Purāṇic narrator (addressing a prince/king as 'putra')
Listener: putra (disciple/son-figure)
Scene: Affectionate admonition: elder instructs ‘my son’ to follow the teaching; the disciple bows, indicating readiness to undertake pilgrimage/rite for śreyas.
Humble obedience to dharmic instruction yields both worldly well-being and spiritual merit beyond death.
The instruction introduces the rite connected with Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra and worship of Bhāskara/Mārtaṇḍa described in the following verses.
A general command to practice the forthcoming rite exactly as taught; the specific observance is detailed later (Sun worship and circumambulation).
