śrutādhyayanasaṃpannā yājñikāśca viśeṣataḥ | paraṃ dveṣaparāḥ sarve tathā paruṣavādinaḥ
Indra
Type: kshetra
Scene: A group of learned brāhmaṇas with manuscripts and yajña implements stand in a sacred precinct, yet their faces show anger; sharp gestures and pointed speech contrast with the serene tīrtha backdrop.
Learning and ritual skill must be joined with compassion and gentle speech; otherwise dharma becomes spiritually hollow.
The verse continues the evaluation of Camatkārapura’s ritual milieu within the Gayā-kūpa/śrāddha narrative.
Implicitly, it cautions that śrāddha should not be associated with officiants marked by hatred and harsh speech, even if learned.
