बर्बरीक उवाच । अहं कुरुकुलोत्पन्नः पांडुपुत्रस्य पौत्रकः । बर्बरीक इति ख्यातस्तं दैत्यं हंतुमागतः
barbarīka uvāca | ahaṃ kurukulotpannaḥ pāṃḍuputrasya pautrakaḥ | barbarīka iti khyātastaṃ daityaṃ haṃtumāgataḥ
بربریک نے کہا: میں کورو وَنش میں پیدا ہوا ہوں، پانڈو کے بیٹے کا پوتا ہوں۔ بربریک کے نام سے مشہور، میں اُس دَیتیہ کو قتل کرنے آیا ہوں۔
