yāvanmahī samudrāśca parvatā nagarāṇi ca | tāvatsthānamidaṃ viprā na hi tyakṣyāmi karhicit
Sūrya (Āditya)
Tirtha: Jayāditya
Type: kshetra
Listener: Vipras (brāhmaṇa-sages)
Scene: Sūrya gestures expansively to the cosmos—earth, oceans, mountains, cities—while vowing never to abandon the sanctified place; sages listen in reverent stillness.
A tirtha becomes timeless when anchored by divine commitment; such places serve generations as steady refuges.
Jayāditya-sthāna, promised to remain sanctified as long as the world itself endures.
No specific ritual is prescribed; the verse provides a divine guarantee of the site’s enduring sanctity.
