धर्ममर्थं च कामं च मोक्षं चोद्दिश्य चोच्यते । प्रयोजनमिति प्रोक्तं प्रथमं वाक्यलक्षणम्

dharmamarthaṃ ca kāmaṃ ca mokṣaṃ coddiśya cocyate | prayojanamiti proktaṃ prathamaṃ vākyalakṣaṇam

جب کلام کو دھرم، ارتھ، کام یا موکش کے پیشِ نظر کہا جائے تو اسے ‘پریوجن’ یعنی مقصد کہا گیا ہے؛ یہی جملے کی پہلی علامت ہے۔
