Tirtha: Rāma-tīrtha
Type: ghat
Listener: Pilgrimage-inquirer (typically a sage/kingly interlocutor in Kāśī-māhātmya frames)
Scene: A pilgrim descends stone steps to a small sacred ford labeled Rāma-tīrtha; ahead stands Vīra-Rāmeśvara shrine with liṅga, bells, and lamps; the pilgrim emerges from the water with folded hands as a subtle vision of Vaikuṇṭha appears in the sky.
Even a simple act of tīrtha-snāna, done with faith, is praised as powerful enough to elevate the soul to a divine realm.
Rāma-tīrtha, situated before the shrine/area of Vīra-Rāmeśvara in Kāśī.
Snāna (ritual bathing) at Rāma-tīrtha.
