Tirtha: Śrī-caraṇodaka (Śiva-pāda-udaka)
Type: tirtha
Scene: A symbolic tableau: three streams of suffering—one from worldly creatures/elements, one from celestial/planetary forces, one from the mind—are shown as three dark currents, all calmed and cleared by a single luminous flow labeled ‘śrī-caraṇodaka’ emanating from Śiva’s feet.
Devotional sanctity (caraṇodaka) is taught as a complete remedy for the threefold suffering—outer, cosmic, and inner.
In the Kāśī Khaṇḍa framework, the teaching supports Kāśī’s reputation as a place where Śaiva rites and sacred waters grant comprehensive relief and auspiciousness.
Taking/using śrī-caraṇodaka (pāda-tīrtha/charanāmṛta) as a remedial and purificatory practice.
