श्रुतिस्मृतिपुराणज्ञा ब्राह्मणाः परिकीर्तिताः । तदुक्ताचारचरणा इतरे नामधारकाः

śrutismṛtipurāṇajñā brāhmaṇāḥ parikīrtitāḥ | taduktācāracaraṇā itare nāmadhārakāḥ

جو لوگ شروتی، سمرتی اور پرانوں کے حقیقی جاننے والے ہیں وہی برہمن کہلاتے ہیں؛ اور جو ان میں بتائے ہوئے آچار پر چلتے ہیں وہی حقیقتاً برہمن ہیں—باقی تو صرف نام کے برہمن ہیں۔
