kasmāttvamāgatā bhadre kathayasva yathātathā | kiṃ kāryaṃ kasya hetuśca satyamākhyātumarhasi
Yama (contextual continuation)
Listener: Varddhanī (addressed)
Scene: A courteous but firm questioning: the speaker asks the arriving lady to state truthfully why she has come, what task is intended, and for whose sake.
Satya (truthfulness) is upheld as a dharmic imperative, especially when motives and duties are questioned in a sacred setting.
The verse is dialogic and ethical; it does not glorify a named tirtha, though it sits within the Dharmāraṇya sacred narrative frame.
No ritual is mentioned; the prescription here is ethical—speak the truth.
