tatra tīrthe tu yaḥ snātvā śrāddhaṃ kuryādyudhiṣṭhira | ekottaraṃ kulaśatamuddharecchivaśāsanāt
Skanda (deduced, addressing Yudhiṣṭhira within a didactic tīrtha narrative frame)
Tirtha: Revā-tīrtha (specific ford unnamed in the verse)
Type: ghat
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira (addressed)
Scene: On a riverbank tīrtha, a devotee completes snāna and then performs śrāddha: darbha grass, piṇḍa offerings, sesame-water tarpaṇa; subtle presence of pitṛs receiving offerings; Śiva’s ordinance symbolized by a liṅga or trident emblem.
Pilgrimage is not only personal purification; it is also service to ancestors through śrāddha performed in a sanctified place.
The tīrtha being praised in Revā Khaṇḍa Adhyāya 84, in the vicinity of Revā–Kumbheśvara.
Perform snāna at the tīrtha and then do śrāddha; the text attributes vast ancestral upliftment to this act.
