tatra tīrthe tu yaḥ snātvā prāṇatyāgaṃ karoti cet | śivasyānucaro bhūtvā modate kalpamakṣayam
Narrator (tīrtha-māhātmya statement)
Type: tirtha
Scene: A pilgrim completes snāna, then peacefully relinquishes life at the tīrtha; Śiva’s gaṇas receive the soul, leading it to Śiva’s retinue; the river and shrine remain central, mood serene not grim.
The tīrtha is portrayed as spiritually potent: death there (after sacred purification) is said to lead to Śiva’s proximity.
The same “tatra tīrthe” in Revā Khaṇḍa—presented as a place granting enduring Śiva-sevā after death.
Bathing at the tīrtha is explicitly mentioned; the verse then describes the consequence if death occurs there.
