yadi bhadra na cetkopaṃ karoṣi mayi sāmpratam | balābhirbhara me liṅgaṃ dadāmi bahu te dhanam
Hara (Śiva) (within Mārkaṇḍeya’s narration)
Tirtha: Revā-kṣetra
Type: kshetra
Scene: Śiva speaks gently yet pointedly, requesting the man to carry His liṅga, offering abundant wealth—an overt temptation framed as a moral test.
Sevā to the Lord’s symbol (liṅga) sanctifies ordinary effort; humble assistance can become a channel of both worldly and spiritual reward.
The episode belongs to the Kantheśvara-centered māhātmya stream in Revā Khaṇḍa; the precise site is the Śiva-sthāna that the narrative is establishing.
An act of service is prescribed: to carry/bear the liṅga (liṅga-bhāraṇa) as requested by Hara.
