vaktuṃ samartho na guṇānbrahmāpi parameśvaraḥ | tathāpyuddeśato vacmi śṛṇu bhūtvā samāhitaḥ
Mārkaṇḍeya
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira
Scene: Mārkaṇḍeya declares that even Brahmā cannot fully describe the excellences; he will speak only in outline and asks for concentrated listening.
Divine greatness exceeds speech; still, attentive listening to even a partial account yields spiritual nourishment.
No single tīrtha is named in this verse; it sets the mahātmya tone within the Revā Khaṇḍa context.
A mental discipline is prescribed: hear the account with samāhita-citta (focused attention).
