Invocation, Sacred Setting, and the Arrival of Sūta
pratigṛhya satāṃ pūjāṃ munibhiḥ pratipāditām | uddiṣṭamānasaṃ bheje niyukto yuktamātmanaḥ
Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Significance: Models the disciplined receptivity (yoga/niyama) required for transmitting Śiva-jñāna; the ‘appointed task’ motif frames Purāṇic teaching as a vehicle of grace.
Role: teaching
It highlights the Shaiva ideal that outer honor and worship should culminate in inner yoga: a composed mind fixed on the spiritual aim, undertaken with disciplined responsibility.
The verse shows the classical movement from saguna devotion (formal pūjā offered by sages) toward antar-yāga (inner worship), where the mind becomes steady and directed toward Shiva as the highest goal.
It implies focused meditation after pūjā—settling the mind (yukta-ātman) on the chosen divine aim—consistent with Shaiva practice where external worship is followed by japa and dhyāna on Shiva.
