Sūta (narrating the tīrtha-māhātmya dialogue, traditionally as transmitted in Purāṇic recitation)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It teaches that tīrtha-snāna performed with śraddhā is spiritually transformative and leads to sadgati (a blessed destiny), and it directs the pilgrim onward in a prescribed pilgrimage sequence to Somatīrtha associated with Soma.
Bhakti is implied through śraddhā: the verse emphasizes inner faith as the essential ingredient that makes an outward act (bathing at a tīrtha) spiritually efficacious, aligning ritual action with devotional intent.
Kalpa-oriented practice is implied: it highlights tīrtha-snāna as a ritual act whose result depends on correct intention (śraddhā) and proper observance in a pilgrimage sequence, a common Purāṇic application of ritual procedure.
