Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada, within the Vedanga/ritual-technical section)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: raudra
This verse presents a technical homa-prayoga (ritual application) where specific substances and a fixed count of oblations are prescribed to produce a “vaśya” effect, illustrating the Purana’s Vedanga-style emphasis on procedural precision (dravya, saṅkhyā, and nāma-saṅkalpa).
It does not teach bhakti directly; instead, it belongs to the technical sciences section, showing how ritual acts (homa with prescribed offerings and recitation) are framed as result-oriented disciplines alongside broader devotional teachings found elsewhere in the Narada Purana.
Practical ritual science is emphasized: correct selection of oblation materials (dravya), exact numerical count (ayuta = 10,000), and the operational detail of inserting the sādhya’s name in the recitation—features typical of prayoga-style instruction.
