Bhāgīratha’s Bringing of the Gaṅgā
bhagavāṃstuṣyate yena karmaṇā munisattama | tanmamākhyāhi sarvajña anugrāhyo'smi te yadi || 12 ||
Narada (addressing Sanatkumara)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse frames the central inquiry of sādhanā: identifying the kind of karma (practice) that truly pleases Bhagavān, approached through humility and readiness to receive a guru’s grace.
It shows bhakti’s mood of śaraṇāgati—seeking guidance from the wise to learn what actions align the heart and conduct with Bhagavān’s pleasure, rather than relying on ego-driven effort.
No specific Vedāṅga is taught in this verse; it sets up an instructional context where correct practice (karma) will later be clarified—typically requiring proper mantra usage and ritual discipline supported by Śikṣā and Vyākaraṇa.
